Experimental Study of MICP-Solidified Calcareous Sand Based on Ambient Temperature Variation in the South China Sea

With the continuous advancement of construction Hainan Free Trade Port and Island Reef Project, deploying Microbial Induced Calcium Carbonate Precipitation (MICP technology) for related research on temperature range in this area would be great significance. MICP technology is an innovative sustainable new soil reinforcement that uses metabolic activity specific bacteria to produce calcium carbonate precipitation (CaCO3) connect loose soil. A few previous studies reporting applications different environments drew conclusions. Therefore, study involved sand column tests at ambient temperatures 20 °C, room temperature, 30 40 °C. The effect was evaluated using indicators such as CaCO3 generation rate, Ca2+ conversion bacterial adhesion water absorption unconfined compressive strength, providing a reference basis future island reef engineering construction. results showed that, with increase from °C production strength trend first increasing then decreasing; UCS 548 KPa 2276.67 °C; rate 25.32, which decreased continuously reached 21.49 also continued rise 10.91 28.44. had impact physiological state cells. scanning electron microscope test shows crystal forms generated under were different, mineral deposits during denser.
